What started as a passion for sharing approachable, crave-worthy recipes online has grown into a thriving community, a full-time career and now, a long-held dream realized for Canadian recipe creator, entrepreneur and cookbook author, Jamie Milne.
For more than a decade, Milne has been the creative force behind Everything Delish, building a loyal following around recipes that feel elevated enough for entertaining, yet approachable enough for a busy weeknight. Along the way, she took a leap many aspiring entrepreneurs dream about: leaving the security of her career as an elementary school teacher to bet on herself and build Everything Delish into the brand it is today.
Now, she’s bringing that journey off the screen and into kitchens with The Everything Delish Cookbook, officially arriving September 1, 2026. The book reflects the many seasons of Milne’s own life—from entertaining friends and family to pregnancy, postpartum and becoming a mom of two. At its heart is the same philosophy that has shaped Everything Delish from the beginning: making delicious food that feels special without making it complicated.
Ahead of the book’s release, we caught up with Milne to talk about turning a decade of digital recipe creation into something tangible, taking the leap into entrepreneurship, how motherhood has reshaped her definition of success, and, of course, the one recipe you need to make first.
The Everything Delish Cookbook is available September 1, 2026 and is available to pre-order here now.
- You’ve shared recipes online for years. What made you feel like now was the right time to turn Everything Delish into a cookbook?
I’ve been sharing recipes online for over a decade, and a cookbook has always been my ultimate dream. However, I also wanted to wait until I felt like I had something really special to give people. Everything Delish has grown with me through so many different seasons of my life, and this book really reflects that. I wanted to create something that wasn’t just a collection of recipes, but a book people could actually live with and cook from all year long. It took over three years to bring it to life, and releasing it as a mom of two makes the timing feel even more meaningful!!
- Everything Delish started on a screen, and now people are going to have this book sitting in their kitchens, getting stained, dog-eared and cooked from. What does that mean to you?
That is honestly the part that makes me the most emotional! Social media moves so quickly in the sense that you post a recipe and then suddenly you’re onto the next thing. A cookbook is permanent. The thought of someone having this book on their kitchen counter, staining the pages, writing notes in it, making the same recipe over and over again, or eventually passing it down to someone they love is so special to me. Some of my favourite recipes in this book come from my own family and the tables I grew up around, so knowing that they might now become part of someone else’s traditions is really surreal.
- When writing this cookbook, who did you envision bringing these recipes to life?
Honestly, everyone! I really wanted this book to meet you wherever you are in life. Maybe you’re in college cooking for your roommates, making dinner for a date, hosting your first holiday, feeding your kids on a busy Tuesday night, or having your entire family over for a big dinner. I’ve cooked these recipes through so many seasons: pregnancy, postpartum, becoming a mom of two, entertaining friends, and just trying to get dinner on the table. I wanted something in here for every person, every occasion, and every season of life!
- If someone buys the book on September 1 and can only make one recipe that night, what should it be?
It has to be the Citrus & Fennel Roast Chicken recipe, which is the cover recipe for a reason! It’s one of those dishes that looks so beautiful and impressive on the table, but is actually really approachable to make. It’s cozy, flavorful, and exactly what Everything Delish is all about: recipes that feel special without being complicated. And if you’re making your first recipe from the book, you might as well start with the cover!
- When you first made the leap into entrepreneurship, what scared you most—and what excited you most?
The scariest part was definitely leaving the security of a permanent career. I was an elementary school teacher, so I went from having a very clear path to basically betting on myself. There was no roadmap and no guarantee that Everything Delish would become what it is today. Although that was also what excited me most. I had this opportunity to build something completely from scratch that was mine, and to turn something I genuinely loved doing into my career!
- How did your definition of success change once you went from working a traditional full-time job to building something of your own?
At first, I think success felt very numbers-driven by followers, views, brand deals, all those tangible milestones. As Everything Delish grew, my definition completely changed. Of course I’m incredibly proud of those milestones, but now success is building a career that lets me be creative, connect with this amazing community, and create something with longevity. Especially now that I’m a mom, success also means building something I’m proud of while still being present for my family.
- For someone sitting at their full-time job with an idea they’re passionate about but afraid to pursue, what advice would you give them?
My biggest advice is to be your authentic self and do what you genuinely love. Don’t try to be what you think people want to see or compare your path to someone else’s. Everything Delish grew because I stayed true to myself, shared what I actually loved, and kept showing up even when I had no idea where it would lead. I really believe that when you’re passionate about what you’re doing, and you’re authentically yourself, people feel that, and that’s when success follows.
- Most underrated ingredient?
Fresh herbs. They can completely transform something so simple. I always have a crazy amount of dill, parsley, basil and cilantro in my fridge. They add so much freshness and flavour without complicating a recipe.
- Ingredients you always have in your fridge?
Definitely lemons, Parmesan, eggs, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, lots of fresh herbs and butter. I also always have ingredients for a really good dressing or sauce because I swear the sauce is usually what makes the meal.
- Your ultimate comfort meal?
A cheeseburger and onion rings, always! There is truly nothing better to me. Give me a really good, juicy cheeseburger with crispy onion rings on the side, and I’m the happiest person.
