There’s a Mud Race/Obstacle Course Coming to Downtown Toronto

Yes, you now have the chance to get incredibly dirty without leaving the city for greener pastures. This mud-obstacle race will be a lot more fun than running a 5k, and the 10,000-watt after party will ease any post-race aches you might have

If you ever thought to yourself, “damn I’d love to cover myself in mud and run through an obstacle course,” consider your wild and crazy dream about to come true.

‘Cause Toronto is about to get exactly that – a mud obstacle race right in the heart of the city.

Mud Hero’s dirty event will take place on Friday May 22 and Saturday May 23th at the now defunct Ontario Place grounds, with 6 kilometers full of 23 obstacles – varying in difficulty from easy to athletes only.

Their aim is to keep it fun for everyone (everyone over 14, that is) and avoid the idea that you need to be in shape to participate.

You can pick and choose which obstacles you feel comfortable doing, so there’s no fear of making a fool of yourself on a super complicated stop.

If you’ve been looking for motivation to get active this winter, let this race be your guiding light. Unlike many ‘for fun’ obstacle races, this one will be timed with results broken down by age group – so you can gloat a little if your time is better than your friends.

Also – mud.

You get to be covered in mud with about 10,000 other people, which is definitely the most fun downtown Toronto is likely to be exposed to all year – well maybe except for the upcoming slip-n-slide festival.

And if you don’t feel like getting dirty but still want in on the spectacle, there will be ample space to watch as your friends get covered from head to toe.

The after party mud bash will feature a DJ, BBQ, live bands, booze, and giveaways. Aka: you finally have a chance to understand what Woodstock must have been like all those years ago.

Register by March 8th to get in for $52, after that prices will go up incrementally in the following weeks with a final fee of $77 by May 17th.
