London has been home to a number of unique dining options, from a Game of Thrones-themed restaurant to a cafe where you pay for everything with hugs.
This, however, is another level of avant-garde: the city will be home to a naked pop-up restaurant where diners can eat in the buff this summer. In other words, you can enjoy a steak with your schlong out.
The Bunyadi — named after a Hindi term for ‘base’, or ‘natural’ – will be opening in London for three months this summer with a naked and non-naked section, as well as a changing room for those who decide to eat nude. The staff will also be naked with minor covering.
Hopefully that doesn’t include the cooks.
“Enter a secret Pangea-like world,” its website promises, “free from phones, electric lights and even clothing (optional) and revisit the beginning where everything was fresh, free and unadulterated from the trappings of modern life.”
While this probably isn’t a place you’d want to bring your mom and dad, it could be a fun dining experience for a couple or a group of friends who are looking to feel liberated. We also recommend diners should avoid bringing a first date here because seeing someone naked before entering the bedroom makes things all kinds of awkward.
“We have worked very hard to design a space where everything patrons interact with is bare and naked. The use of natural bamboo partitions and candlelight has enabled us to make the restaurant discreet, whilst adhering to the ethos behind it,” says restaurant owner Seb Lyall.
The pop-up has yet to reveal what dishes will be served, but we can only assume hot soup will not be an option.
The current guest list for the restaurant has almost 13,000 people waiting on tickets.
