Elevator Pitch: Describe your job in a nutshell.
We design, market, manufacture and sell.

Why did you start working at your company? What was the inspiration for this career route?
We always used to have zippers added to our jeans. We liked that we could wear them as skinnies when we wanted or have the zippers open over our shoe for a slimming effect. Our friends started to catch on and wanted to do the same thing. We were always having problems finding good leggings that fit properly, held in the muffin top, didn’t fall off, pill or loose shape after washing. We decided to make a couple of styles for our friends and us; the reaction we got was amazing. Stores wanted to buy them and newspapers and media outlets were interested in our story and idea – so we made it into a brand. We didn’t plan for it to go that way but it did and we couldn’t be happier! We hope to have this as a life-long career!

What is the best part of what you do on a day-to-day basis? The most challenging part?
The best part of the day to day is the feedback. Having people send us pictures or messages telling us how good their pants make them feel is so rewarding. Seeing someone walking around in your creation is pretty amazing too!

The most challenging part is managing all the different aspects of the business. There are so many different tasks, from all manufacturing and production issues to marketing, sales, packaging, and website management. We are a small company with no employees so it can be challenging at times.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully (fingers crossed) in most major stores within Canada and USA, and getting into the Middle East and European markets. And, of course, still creating the perfect pant/legging and other fun items!

What does success look like to you?
Success to us is happiness in what you do. Creating or doing something that helps people in some way and makes them happy as well. Being accomplished at what you have worked hard for.

What is the most memorable milestone in your career?
We are still a pretty young brand and have had so many great opportunities, but as of now we get to work together and do something we love and be creative in.

Do you have any advice for other young professionals?
It’s hard work but it’s worth it. Keep at it and don’t give up.

Do you support any charities? If so, which one(s) and why is that important to you?
We do support charities! Gerdy’s Rescue, Federation CJA and ICRF.  And we will continue to support these charities and others in the future.

What to you is notable?
Hard, honest work, giving back to the community and people around you, dedication to what you do no matter what it is, and definitely a good sense of style!
