The Les Printemps du MAC committee is back with the 2014 edition of its fundraising event taking place on April 11th, and are we ever excited. This year’s theme, OCTO, will offer around 1,000 guests an evening rich in colours, images and flavours inspired predominantly by Christian Marclay’s work ‘The Clock’ currently exhibited at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montreal (MAC). This is hands down one of our favourite events and a must for any young professional’s social calendar.

Founded eight years ago, the Les Printemps du MAC committee brings together young professionals who are passionate about art through unique events every spring to raise funds for the Fondation du Musée d’art contemporain in order to support emerging artists. Since its inception, Les Printemps du MAC is proud to have raised over $700,000 for the Fondation du MAC. Notable indeed.

The theme of the evening this time will be our resistance to the fleeting nature of time, our desire to go back, and to sometimes even forget. OCTO is an invitation to be part of a continual party vibe while providing a memorable reflection on “the” time and “our” time, a beautiful theme that will be strongly present through the work of ‘The Clock’ by Christian Marclay and Adrian Paci’s exhibitions, ‘Vies en Transit’.

“For the eighth edition of its annual event, the Les Printemps du MAC committee wants to continue its efforts in introducing the next generation of philanthropists to the MAC, the only institution of its kind in Québec and the rest of Canada. We are working to make more Montrealers aware of this wonderful artistic destination that we have right here in our city,” says Maria Antonopoulos, Co-chair of the event and Director of Communications at Antonopoulos Group.

All proceeds from the OCTO event will be donated to the Fondation du Musée d’art contemporain. By purchasing tickets, guests will get the chance to experience a special evening of networking and socializing while also helping to build the MAC’s collection. Did we mention Notable will have a special installation on site? Thanks to TASS ONE events who is event planning the soiree, we will surely impress you!
