This weekend’s got a little bit of everything, from a full sensory experience for a great cause to every year’s most notable summer-ending festival. Here’s where you’ll find us on Montreal’s social scene over the next four days…

THURSDAY
Fresh fruits and veggies, here we come. The McGill Farmers’ Market takes off today and every Thursday until October from 12pm to 5pm. This year the market will be held on the main road between the y-intersection and the statue of James McGill.

The McGill Farmers’ Market provides the opportunity to buy fresh, healthy, organic and local food directly from the farmers who produce it, and to engage with community and student groups working on personal, community, and ecological food sustainability initiatives. On February 21st, 2014, the Pub Bishop & Bagg had its soft opening and has been struggling ever since with the Plateau Mont-Royal city hall to get permits to put up some signage and change their old facade. Because of all of this, they forgot to ever have an official opening party. You know what they say: better late than never. So tonight they will help launch the Montreal Oysterfest weekend and thank everyone that has supported them so far. Come have a beer – or two, or three.

FRIDAY
The Montreal Art and Tattoo Festival will welcome more than 200 tattoo artists from countries all around the world including Japan, Denmark, France, UK, China, and Italy to host seminars, participate in tattoo contests, and enjoy live concerts. Get inked.

Bonsecours Market is hosting the World Press Photo event once again and, as always, it’s gripping and beautiful. Showcasing 150 prize-winning photographs from the most prestigious professional photography competition on the planet, this is a true feast for the eyes and mind.

SATURDAY
Presented by “TOP,” a volunteer group of Montrealers, Electric City is a first of its kind event in celebration of the life of Tamar Ostrega Perlman alongside the Jewish General Hospital. It is created to raise awareness and much-needed funds for En famille, a vital local organization supporting young families living with cancer.

Expect a full sensory experience of glowing lights, music and dancing complete with fun games and activities, all set in a dazzling environment where families and friends can celebrate and raise funds together.

Hip Hop Cafe will be hosting four veterans and icons from the hip-hop world including Masta Ace and Wordsworth before their show at the Blue Dog. Come face to face with some names that helped shape this industry and left a real mark. Freestyle challenge? We suggest not.

SUNDAY
Alas, the summer’s end festival of all festivals is finally here. Oysterfest 2014 kicked off yesterday with a half day and today is the main day with an incredible amount of notable happenings to take in: oyster shucking competitions, amazing food, perfect weather (we hope), great people, live music, amazing drinks and cocktails, seafood platter competitions, drinking games and a slew of new restaurants on premise feeding you all day long. Shuck away.

Today is your last day to check out Le Burger Week. BW is all about finding the best burger around, having fun, and allowing local restaurants to showcase something classic but unique to you. Make sure to vote to help crown our city’s master burger.
