Montreal Weekender: November 21 through 24, 2013

From our must-attend Notable Merchants 5 a 7 tonight at Old Montreal’s Royal Merchant to Sunday's Urban Tea Party, we've covered all of the notable happenings young professionals in Montreal should have on their radar heading into the weekend

THURSDAY
With last week’s major success of our 5 a 7 “The Notable Merchants” at Old Montreal’s Royal Merchant, we are continuing tonight for the second time around! So come join us starting at 5pm for Moosehead and Stewart’s Root Beer n Rum Happy Hour, free wings from 5 until 7pm, Movember donation bar run by party starter Josh Silver, oysters galore by the one and only Terlecki, your favourite classic rock hits, and, once again, and a first-class crowd. Arrive early as last week was jam-packed… seriously.

How about tapping into your inner theatrical side? Othello, Shakespeare’s heart-stopping and thrilling ultimate classic, lives on at the Segal Centre in a new production featuring one of Montreal’s most creative theatre companies. If you want to get to know Shakespeare, here is a great place to start.

FRIDAY
Always one of the most highly-anticipated charity events for notable young professionals in the city, the 2013 Kids for Kids Gala promises not to disappoint! Tonight, Kids for Kids will host its 21st annual party where over 800 partygoers will re-acquaint and mix it up on the dance floor to amazing music. A pre-party VIP cocktail will feature open bar service by our dear friend Brahm Mauer and dinner by the yummy Bice. Kids for Kids has joined forces with Sarah’s Fund of the Cedars Cancer Institute to raise much-needed funds for pediatric oncology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, so donate and get ready to party.

Here’s one for the creative minds. The renowned Cirque Éloize presents a show that combines the worlds of circus, dance and theatre with Circopolis. Performing within an inventive stage design and accompanied by an original musical score and video projections, 12 acrobats and multidisciplinary artists rebel against monotony, reinvent themselves and challenge the limits of the factory-city. You will have to see it to believe it.

SATURDAY
There’s never a bad day for shopping, right? Well here comes the biggest second hand clothes sale EVER! In order to raise funds for Tremblant’s 24h (10% of the sale’s proceeds will be donated), hundreds of pieces of clothing are sold at attractive prices.  There will be beer on site for those that aren’t in the spending mood courtesy of Sleeman and Perrier. Wallets ready?

Here’s a beautiful idea for a relaxing night out. The wonderfully vocal ‘The Tenors’ have been thrilling audiences around the world with their powerful voices and memorable melodies blending classical music and contemporary pop, and now they will be gracing the stage at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier. Sit back, relax and soak in the beauty of a powerful voice.

SUNDAY
Here’s a little more fashion for you shopaholics. Urban Body Studio in collaboration with Lole and Collectively Beautiful is bringing you an Urban Tea Party featuring sweets, hors d’oeuvres, gifts, prizes and a sporty fashion show. During the event, Lole will present a small fashion show from which guests will be able to help select the items they would like to see being sold at Urban Body Studio.?Dress code is city chic, ladies, so think New York!
