Izakaya lovers rejoice!
As we shared with you previously, the team behind the tremendously popular Guu Izakaya in Toronto is set to finally debut its first (and much anticipated) restaurant on November 8th.
Yes, Guu lovers, we finally have a date.
Kinka Izakaya is the name and Japanese tapas plates are the game. This all-new Izakaya will be opening its doors downtown at the Faubourg building on Ste. Catherine St. W.
And if you’ve ever had the pleasure of dining at Guu in Toronto, you’ll be happy to hear that Kinka Izakaya’s irresistible menu will be very similar. The Guu franchise has developed an almost cult like following with many swearing it to be the best Izakaya in town. Perhaps the reason it’s not so surprising to learn that the Kinka Family has plans to expand nationwide.
Montreal has seen a huge surge in Japanese eateries, with restaurants dropping roots into nearly every neighbourhood in the 514 over the past few years. And with Kinka Izakaya joining the clan, it will give the likes of Kazu and Imadake some healthy competition.
Best to save your appetite for November 8th, though, ‘cause we’re pretty sure you’re going to want to try everything on the menu.
