Get Ready for a Night Full of Sweet Surprises at the McCord Museum Sugar Ball

The sweetest charity of them all is just around the corner with the annual McCord MuseumSugar Ball. From the always-buzzing whiskey bar to crowd favourite DJ YO-C turning the heat up on the dance floor, this year’s soiree has it all…and more. Read on to discover why you simply can’t miss this sugary fundraiser…

As if you weren’t counting the days, May is just around the corner.

And we couldn’t be more excited (not only for the sun) because McCord Museum’s Sugar Ball is taking place at The Arsenal on May 8th.

This year’s theme is sugar, sugar, and, well, more sugar.

All we know is that this will be an experiential concept by Circo de Bakuza and the rest will have to be experienced in person.

Excited?

So are we.

The night’s main focus is to donate all proceeds toward making Montreal’s social history accessible at the McCord Museum. And what better way to do so than by hosting over 800 of Montreal’s top movers and shakers under chic and industrial roof of The Arsenal Art Gallery.

Every year the program surpasses all expectations and creates memories that last until the time comes around when they’re ready to do it all over again.

VIPs, arriving at 8 pm, will be welcomed by a cornucopia of delicacies from Montreal’s finest Ferreira Cafe, Taverne F, Le Richmond, Milos, RYU, Bevo, and, as always, Burgundy Lion’s tasty scotch bar, among others.

After the clock strikes 10pm, sugar ballers can expect sweet surprises and a very generous open bar as crowd favourite DJ YO-C starts to shake up the dance floor.

Did we mention there will be a LOT of candy for everyone all night long? Talk about a sweet surprise. Montreal favourite Squish Candies will be dishing the sweetness out.

Other notable things in the program to note is the chance to win one of 200 pairs of converse, YSL will be on premise with their touch-up makeup stations, some of the top fashion bloggers will be doing a best-dressed contest and more.

This night would not be possible without Davies (Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP) who has been major supporter of the McCord Museum Sugar Ball since its inception six years ago. Christine Lenis, a partner at Davies, has also been on the McCord Museum Sugar Ball’s committee since the beginning and this is her 3rd year as Chair of the committee.

La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is also a long term supporter of the McCord Museum and has been supporting the McCord Museum Sugar Ball for the last three years.

Tickets sell out very quickly every year so make sure to get yours and prep your snazziest outfit for the night of your life.
