Garrison Bespoke Suits Up Toronto FC

We can all agree there’s something about a man in a suit. Well, how about a whole team of men in suits? And not just any old suit – custom-fitted bespoke suits made by A-list favourite, Toronto-based luxury tailoring house Garrison Bespoke

We can all agree there’s something about a man in a suit.

Well, how about a whole team of men in suits?

And not just any old suit – custom-fitted bespoke suits made by A-list favourite, Toronto-based luxury tailoring house Garrison Bespoke.

You’ve heard us talk about Garrison Bespoke before. Their clientele includes dapper hometown rapper Drake as well as members of the Toronto Blue Jays, Raptors, and Maple Leafs. As you may recall, they also might help save your life (in style, of course) with their bulletproof suit. The company also dresses the boys in the hit show Suits (how fitting).

Now Toronto FC might just be the best-dressed team in professional soccer.

In collaboration with team captain Steven Caldwell, Garrison Bespoke has created Toronto FC’s first official uniform team suit. And it manages to rival both Arsenal’s suits by Lanvin and Italy’s World Cup suits by Dolce and Gabbana.

Working closely with Caldwell and other players to gain a sense of the team’s personality, the result is a three-piece bespoke pinstripe in the team’s signature red and black that also proudly bears the team crest.

The suits were revealed yesterday at the KIA Training Ground and we caught up with some of the players to hear a little more on looking good both on and off the field.

Much to the enjoyment of every female present, the suit-clad players casually kicked soccer balls, revealing that the suits were as functional as they were fashionable.

“The MLS called us about six months ago with a mission to make the team the best-dressed in soccer,” says Garrison Bespoke owner and operator Michael Nguyen. “So everything from the fabric to the fit is special to TFC. The fabric has enough stretch that they can even play soccer in it. A lot of athletes complain that they don’t like wearing suits because they are not comfortable, so we wanted to create that comfort.”

What’s Nguyen’s favourite part of the suit? “I love the vest,” he says. “The players mentioned that when they go to games they want to feel different every time – they are very superstitious. They’ll wear different combinations to several games and whatever feels best, they will wear that combination over and over. You can wear it as a three-piece, as a two-piece, or as a vest on its own. There are actually 12 combinations of how you can wear the three-piece suit with two shirts, so it’s very versatile. They’re playing a lot of games this season so they want to feel fresh.”
