Canadian Amateur Photographer Wins Wildlife Photographer of the Year

Don Gutoski, an amateur photographer from London, Ontario, has been named the 2015 Wildlife Photographer of the Year for his image ‘Tale of two foxes’.

“It’s the best picture I’ve ever taken in my life,” Gutoski told BBC News. “It’s the symmetry of the heads, the bodies and the tails – even the expression on the faces.”

The photo was taken in early winter in Wapusk National Park, on Hudson Bay, and shows a red fox hunting an Arctic fox to ensure survival in the subarctic climes.

Gutoski’s photo was chosen among 42,000 entries submitted from across 96 countries and will debut at the London (UK) Natural History Museum on October 16. It will open at Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum on November 21 and will be on display until March 20.
