10 Notable Montreal Happenings to Hit Up This June

It’s almost summer time in Montreal and with the sun and heat comes a slew of awesome events.

June is officially the kick-off to what promises to be the iconic Montreal summer we have all anticipated for months and you know what that means…fun. That’s it. Just good ole’ fun.

And as always, we got you covered with the what, the where and the when.

From the ever-exhilarating Grand Prix festival that spawns off a multitude of parties to the monthly food truck and night markets, here are 10 Notable Montreal Happenings to Hit up This June.

Mile-Ex Night Market
Every month this summer, head out to the intriguing hybrid neighborhood of Mile-Ex for the 2nd Annual Mile-Ex Night Market. The 2nd edition takes off this Saturday May 30th with a huge beer garden and DJs presented by Alexandraplatz Bar. Food trucks and artisanal products will be on hand – so come hungry and willing to haggle.

Grand Prix Festival
The biggest party of the year touches down in Montreal next week and we couldn’t be more fired up. The heart of the celebration kicks off June 4th to 6th on Crescent Street. If terrace parties, live music and fast cars are up your alley, then you’ll feel at home. We hear there’s an awesome party going on at Santos in Old Montreal too…

Village Au Pied-Du-Courant
Village Au Pied-Du Courant is back Friday June 26th and will be open Thursdays through Sundays until September. The Village is located on the Montreal waterfront along Notre Dame Street and will feature food trucks, cafés, art installations, film screenings, live music and most importantly – a licensed bar.

Montreal AIM Festival
AIM is a new, outdoor electronic music festival that will be held from June 26 to 28, 2015 at Parc Carillon in St-André d’Argenteuil, Québec. With a focus on live and DJ performances, interactive multimedia art, sound and digital technology, AIM is one of the only festivals in Canada authorized to offer non-stop music for 32 hours. Oh yeah, they also offer on site camping.

Puces POP 2015
The spring edition of the Puces POP Fair, our favourite crafty event, is back. Free and open to the public, the three day shindig will take place between May 29th and the 31st at l’Église Saint-Denis (5075, rue Rivard) and will bring together over 100 artists and artisans overflowing with creativity.

Marche Des Possibles
Free food, a craft fair, free workshops and diverse cultural programming will be on hand to celebrate the Mile End’s creative community spirit with this edition of the Marche Des Possibles. Enjoy this dynamic urban project Fridays to Sundays from June 19 to August 9th.

Piknic Electronik at Jardins Gamelin
The famous Montreal Piknic is debuting its dance party at the revamped Jardin Gamelin in the heart of the city. On June 5th, you’ll be able to dance the night away to DJ sets by Seychelle and Nymra & Sofisticated from 5pm to 11pm. A massive beer garden and food stations are on site to quench those needs.

Mural Public Art Festival
Running from June 4th to June 14th, Mural fest has alot of surprises in store for all you street art lovers. Expect to see 20 new murals to be created live by local and international artists from 8 different countries. It all ends with the highly anticipated Osheaga Block Party and Homecoming show from A-Track on June 13th to 14th on the Main.

First Fridays
First Fridays Food Truck Festival is back June 5th and continues weekly at the Sunlife Esplanade at Olympic Stadium. More than 30 food trucks will be on-site to kick your foodie cravings to the curb. The festival will feature live music and DJ’s and goes from 4pm to 11pm.

Monkland Village Festival
The Monkland Village Festival runs from June 4th to 7th smack dab during Grand Prix weekend. Take the time to explore local merchants, restaurants, food trucks, exotic cars, circus acts, kids zone, DJs, dancing, and much more – this festival definitely has something to offer the whole family.
