You’ll Be Able to Fly from Toronto to Niagara in 12 Minutes Next Month

Though not officially recognized by Guinness, the QEW is undoubtedly the world’s largest parking lot.

Good news, because relief is on the way: Starting September 15m, Greater Toronto Airways will offer daily flights from Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport to Niagara-on-the-Lake that’ll take just 12 minutes at a cost of $159 round-trip.

That’s right, it’ll take less time to reach one of North America’s most pristine wine regions than getting from Oakville to Mississauga.

In addition to the Toronto-Niagara route, the airline also plans to launch journeys to Muskoka and Collingwood.

Passengers will arrive in wine country, cottage country, or “mountain” country via eight-seater planes. Security checks will be done randomly on board, which means you’ll need to arrive at the airport just 15 minutes prior to departure.

Flights to and from Niagara will take off twice daily from Monday to Friday all year round; from Billy Bishop at 7:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and from Niagara to Billy Bishop at 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Alternatives are dealing with a 115-kilometre drive that could take anywhere between an hour and three, or dropping $39 to sit on a train for 90 minutes.
