It’s back, and with 191 restaurants partaking in the prix-fixation that is Winterlicious, it’s safe to say it’s better than ever. This year, we’re guiding you to the very best… with a li’l Notable twist. To start, here are our Top 5 Winterlicious spots for the scene-loving young professional.
Boehmer, $45 Dinner
Ossington favourite Boehmer is back in on the 3-course fixed price action this year, offering up menu options like grilled calamari with heirloom tomato salad, pan roasted arctic char with root vegetable cake, and lavender creme brulee. Boehmer’s always a hotspot, but during Winterlicious, it’s fiery.
Bloke and 4th, $35 Dinner
YPs always flock to Bloke and 4th for clubbin’, but the kitchen – helmed by the Food Dudes – pumps out some truly interesting cuisine. For this year’s Winterlicious, they’ve spicy BC albacore tuna tartare, applewood smoked pork belly, and deep-fried PB&J bombs on offer. Order up a fantastic feast and stay the night for a party.
Drake Hotel, $20 Lunch and $35 Dinner
Toronto’s cultural hotbed is obviously going to be a big contender for the luxe licious event. Their lunch has a potato soup with escargot and a pear upside down cake, while the dinner sees an organic kale salad and flank steak with green peppercorn roasted cauliflower. It’s comfort, only elevated.
Nyood, $35 Dinner
Nyood as of late has been regaining traction as a go-to supper club in the West End. For Winterlicious, they’re looking to serve up truffle pierogies, hoisin ginger short ribs, and a Valrohna chocolate cake with chantilly cream.
Parts & Labour, $35 Dinner
Chef Matty Matheson has an awesome menu prepped for the favoured hipster hangout. Seared mackerel with yuzu, roasted quail with kale, and a beavertail – yes, the kind you find at skating rinks – are all up for order. Winterlicious at Parts & Labour is anything but laborious.
