On the 40th Episode of The Lucky Few Podcast, host Aaron Parker interviews Andrew Dale, CEO and founder of LeDaveed, a high end leather bag company that is designing with purpose.
Andrew was recently one of the youngest financial partners on Bay Street and decided that the corporate financial world did not jive with his values. He then left his very lucrative corporate post to pursue his dream – LeDaveed. LeDaveed is a company that focuses on making their customers lives easier through design of their products.
Andrew and his partner Shira, who was a product designer at some of the largest leather companies prior (Danier leather), sold out their first two runs even before they could complete the final product.
They also recently became one of the first leather goods companies in the world to achieve Certified B Corporation status for exceptional quality standards and enviro-social performance. They are one of just three Canadian fashion companies (out of 100+ to apply) to be accepted into The Joe Fresh Centre for Fashion Innovation, Canada’s leading fashion accelerator. Both of these events are significant third-party validations of their progress. The latter provides LeDaveed with 18 months of free rent downtown, up to $50K of funding, and mentorship by a roster of senior fashion executives (without equity dilution).
On this podcast episode, Andrew talks about how best to tell your story in an interview to stand out, how your career must be a fusion of your values and skills and that aggressively pursuing what you want is a must.
