Yes, glow-in-the-dark bike paths are now a thing, as evidenced by an awesome initiative in the small Polish town of Lidzbark Warminski.

The best part is that they’re 100% eco-friendly, with synthetic materials absorbing energy from the sun during the day and then slowly releasing it at night. The paths can stay lit for 10 hours at a time.

While it currently stretches only 100 metres as part of a pilot project, perhaps we’ll see it span the world’s longest bike path – our very own – in the near future.
