Notable Sights in Montreal (Part 2)

With so many things to see and do in Montreal, it can be quite the task to decide which notable sights to experience if you're only in the city for a few days. Create your own walking tour and make a stop at the following attractions next time you're in the belle ville

We are back for Part 2 of sightseeing must-see and notable attractions in Montreal.  Last week we hit a museum, a church, and a lookout site.  This week we will continue in those same categories but expanding your options to help you navigate through all that Montreal has to offer it’s visitors.

Montreal Biodome – 4777 Pierre-De Coubertin Avenue
The Biodome in Montreal is one of the most popular attractions in the city and definitely worth the trip to the east end. Attached to Montreal’s famous Olympic Stadium, the Biodome is a facility that allows its visitors to walk through four replicated ecosystems found in the Americas: Rainforest, Oceanside, Northern Forest, and the Arctic. In each ecosystem, you will find animals that live in it, plant life, and information on each life form and environment. Our favourite attraction is watching the penguins playing in the arctic.

Saint Joseph Oratory of Mount Royal – 3800 Queen Mary Road
The Saint Joseph Oratory is a National Historic Site of Canada. Located on Queen Mary and Cote Des Neiges, the Oratory was built in 1917 and finally completed in 1967. The Oratory’s dome is the third largest in the world and the largest church in Canada. The interesting thing about this church is what it represents for its followers; the basilica is dedicated to Saint Joseph, to was credited for all Brother Andre’s reported miracles. On display in the basilica is a wall that is covered with crutches from those who came to the Oratory and were allegedly healed.  It is a gorgeous architectural feat and one not to miss on your sightseeing tour of Montreal.

Montreal Museum of Fine Arts  1380 Sherbrooke West
Located in the heart of the Golden Square Mile in downtown Montreal, the Museum of Fine Arts is a must hit for all our readers who enjoy museums and art gallery stop-ins on their travels. The Museum promotes and acquires work by Canadian as well as international artists, both past and present, with the mission to bring in the broadest and most heterogeneous public possible. The museum was founded in 1860, and since then its holdings have amounted to 36,000 objects (paintings, works on paper, prints and drawings, sculptures, photographs, and decorative art projects). There are always special exhibits as well, and always worth a visit on your trip to Montreal.
