Must Attend: The Pink Party

You’ve heard a lot about Paul Etherington from us lately; he is the young professional behind the beloved motionball charity and also a new contributor on Notable.ca for all charity-related wisdom. One would think that the massive undertaking that is motionball is enough for Etherington, who also has a pretty serious job and a family. Nope. Back again on Friday, April 11th is The Pink Party

When The Sheepdogs, Naughty By Nature and Paul Etherington are involved, you know it is going to be a good party. You’ve heard a lot about Paul Etherington from us lately; he is the young professional behind the beloved motionball charity and also a newcontributor on Notable.ca for all charity-related wisdom. One would think that the massive undertaking that is motionball is enough for Etherington, who also has a pretty serious job and a family. Nope. Back again on Friday, April 11th is The Pink Party, where some of the city’s most notable YPs will unite for the love of the breast, breast cancer survivors, and the colour pink. Now in its fifth year, The Pink Party in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has grown from a small backyard bash to a major fundraiser.

This year’s event will transform The Castlefield (2492 Yonge) into a sea of pink and will include performances by The Sheepdogs and Naughty by Nature, as well as a CK underwear fashion show. The evening is complete with the sounds of DJ Tom Wrecks and violinist Dr Draw. Of course there will be an open bar and signature candy station, as well as one of Etherington’s kick-ass silent auctions (don’t forget those credit cards!).

As you may recall, we had a great time last year, when the Sam Roberts Band gave an unforgettable performance and Etherington’s co-host, Canadian stunner and actress Elisha Cuthbert, turned heads in a bright, long and figure-hugging pink dress. The sold-out event drew more than 650 pink-clad YP guests and this year’s event will sell out as well, so get your tickets now. Pink attire is encouraged but by no means enforced and means things like pink t-shirts, ties, pocket squares and socks for the guys, and either staying casual in jeans and a t-shirt for the ladies, or amping it up in hot pink or pretty blush cocktail dresses.

The Pink Party offers a chance to celebrate life and raise funds for a disease that has affected almost all of us in some way. In response to his mother’s breast cancer battle, Etherington launched The Pink Party in his backyard in 2010 with 80 friends and an iPod dock. It is now one of the hottest tickets on the YP charity ball scene. If you’re not there, we aren’t sure where else you’d be.
