Ottawa: A perfectly decent place to f*ck your own spouse.
That’s the wholesome slogan John Oliver used to encourage Ottawa’s staggering number of Ashley Madison users to not cheat on their partners in yesterday’s episode of Last Week Tonight.
As we shared last week, Ottawa has the unfortunate honour of being home to Canada’s highest percentage of users per capita on the infamous Toronto-based infidelity service. Between 15 and 20 per cent of Ottawans are registered on Ashley Madison, a number that would translate to around half of the married population.
Though not completely enthralled by our “technically beautifully” capital that “fun forgot,” Oliver does offer some hope for those in Ottawa tempted by the love of another:
