Dine Out Vancouver 2013 Kicks Off Next Week

If you’re like us, perhaps your attempt at that Wild Rose cleanse has all but failed and you’re on the lookout for reasons to give the kitchen a break. Well, we’ve got some food inspired news guaranteed to perk up your palate (and save us all from a complete culinary conniption). Read on for our Notable scoop on all things Dine Out 2013

Get ready for it… The Dine Out Vancouver Festival presented by American Express (produced by Tourism Vancouver), is just around the corner.

Starting on January 18 and running until February 3, you can literally eat their way around Vancouver as you enjoy the fabulous cuisine of more than 240 participating restaurants.

As one of Canada’s largest restaurant festivals, this city-wide foodie feast offers up an exceptionally diverse assortment of restaurants featuring prix fixe menus priced at $18, $28 and $38 respectively.

We know that budgets can be tight at this time of year – so Dine Out is the perfect way for young professionals to slip in a bit of the good life without breaking the bank. This year, Dine Out has upped the ante with a record number of participating restaurants on board and a plethora of exciting new events on our Notable radar.

Grow your palate and be sure to partake in the expanded Plated & Paired selection (menus specifically offering BC VQA wine pairings), or check out The Grape Debate and Edible Canada Speaker Series for an educational twist.

Perhaps you’re more into heading down to the Vancouver Urban Winery for their Railtown Supper Party where you’ll dine in true vintage style.

Also worth noting: The Urban Tea Merchant has partnered up with TWG to offer the first ever ‘tea-flight’ service as part of the festival, and will also feature a tea cocktails and tapas event (with tea infused cuisine, of course).

Down in Yaletown, RAW Canvas is hosting a special BC Wine and Artisan Cheese tasting where you’ll learn all about the diverse world of cheese and debunk common pairing myths in their funky and inspiring setting.

Also offered again as part of this year’s festivities is the ever-popular Street Food City – the ultimate Food Truck dining experience that debuted last year. It’s been expanded for an additional five days due to demand.

As well, the Secret Supper Soiree Presented by Swallow Tail Supper Club returns. As Vancouver’s ‘culinary speakeasy tour’, participants are invited to imagine they’re a guest at a classic 1930s underground bar (locales aren’t revealed until arrival). Local chefs create canapés using wild BC products for guests to enjoy before being whisked away to the final hidden dining destination. Tickets always sell out in advance (we’ve already checked), so do not wait.

All participating restaurants are posted live as of today, so be sure to check out the listings, reserve your spots and grab remaining tickets for the awesome events before they’re gone!
