In my opinion, there are only two types of people in this world: those who love guacamole and psychopaths.
That magical combination of creamy avocado, tart lime juice, onions, garlic and spices is pretty much the perfect food and I will happily pay extra for it.
Whether you’re scooping it up with tortilla chips or plopping it onto a big fat burrito, there are not many foods that wouldn’t be improved by a generous helping of the green stuff.
Fortunately, a New York City restaurant has answered our avocado-lovin’ prayers. The aptly-named GUAC Tacos + Tequila has 11 varieties of the popular dip.
You can find everything from a traditional tomato-cilantro-chile serrano version to more inventive incarnations that feature items like chopped bacon, green olives, and sweet mango.
And for those of you who can never have enough guac, you can order the Sampler, which gives you a choice of three.
Even their cocktails get in on the action, with fun on-theme names like ‘Guac it to me’ and ‘Guacopolitan.’ Though, thankfully, these concoctions appear to be avocado-free.
Don’t worry – if you’re starting to feel like this might be too much of a good thing, they also have your typical Mexican mains like fajitas, burritos, quesadillas and nachos.
We must say, considering Toronto is basically the Canadian capital of trendy restaurants, we’re surprised something like this doesn’t exist around here. After all, we even have a poop-themed restaurant opening soon.
In the meantime, I guess we’ll just have to head to good ‘ol Chipotle to satisfy our guac cravings.
